Masked Avenger logo Rubén Procopio, President/Chief Artist.  Rubén is an acclaimed multi-talented veteran artist.  Rubén credits his father Adolfo with guiding development of his artistic talents as a young man, followed by attending CalArts and Art Center on scholarship.  Rubén arrived at the Walt Disney Company's Animation Department at age 18, trained under Eric Larson, one of Disney's legendary "Nine Old Men," and ultimately contributed his many creative and management talents to more than 16 Disney animated features, including The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, and The Lion King.  After more than 25 years with Disney, Rubén founded Masked Avenger Studios in 2003 to expand his sculpting, design and comic book illustration services to many major entertainment industry clients, and to pursue his lifelong passion for the masked heroes of yesteryear. Rubén's wide variety of 2D and 3D talents include sculpture, character design, action figure and toy designs, turnaround model sheets, mold and castings, concept and presentation art, animation, comic book and comic strip art, caricatures, storyboards and illustrations.

Masked Avenger logo Adolfo Procopio, Senior Artist.  Adolfo is a master artist with a lifetime of experience in the arts.  After immigrating to Los Angeles with his family in the early 1960's, Adolfo began a 35 year career with the Walt Disney Company's Imagineering division, where he contributed greatly to many of Disney's most famous attractions, including the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Disney MGM Studios, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. A veteran sculptor and moldmaker with extensive knowledge of wax, plaster, resin, epoxy, silicone and clay, he has also contributed his many artistic talents to collectible properties for collector societies, as well as private commissions.  After retiring from Disney in 2003, Adolfo brought his tremendous experience to Masked Avenger Studios, where he works with his son Rubén to create fine collectible figurines and prototypes.  Click here to see excerpts about Adolfo from Wired and Fortune Magazine, and Click here for a slideshow of highlights from Adolfo's distinguished career.

Masked Avenger logo Vivian Procopio, Project Manager.  Vivian grew up in Burbank, California and followed the trail blazed by her father Adolfo and her brother Rubén with her own distinguished 16 year career with the Walt Disney Company.  Vivian began her professional Disney life as a Research Assistant for the company's corporate library, the Information Research Center (IRC) in the Walt Disney Company's Imagineering division, where she provided information and research services to all Disney divisions.  A few years later Vivian expanded her role as Adminstrator/Manager of the Research department in the Walt Disney Feature Animation Research Library (ARL), the company's collection of archived animation art, where she coordinated preservation, research, book and DVD production, and exhibits for Disney and its artists.  Most recently Vivian curated major Disney exhibits at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, Japan, and the Grand Palais Museum in Paris, France.  Vivian joined Masked Avenger Studios in 2007 to manage numerous art archival, communications and administrative projects, along with creative/technical assistance on the many projects requiring computer graphic design and layout design.  Vivian holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Glendale Community College and also attended the Graphic Arts Program at UCLA Extension.

Masked Avenger logo Jean Schanberger, General Counsel.  Jean has been a lawyer since 1988.  After growing up in San Luis Obispo, CA, Jean earned her undergraduate degree in liberal studies from UC Santa Barbara and her law degree from King Hall Law School at UC Davis.  Jean began her legal career as an associate in a business litigation and appellate law firm, then pursued an in-house corporate legal department career track.  As Senior Counsel for Teledyne, Inc., which was then a Los-Angeles based defense and manufacturing conglomerate, Jean managed national litigation matters and the company's antitrust compliance.  Later, as Associate General Counsel for Levi Strauss & Co., the San Francisco-based apparel company, Jean served on several management teams and was variously responsible for antitrust compliance, litigation, intellectual property and consumer protection for the Levi's® and Dockers® brand organizations as well as the U.S. Sales team.  Jean also holds an Executive Management Certificate from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA, as well as a real estate broker's license.
